Obama did not watch Republican debate

President Obama did not watch the Republican primary debate in New Hampshire on Monday night, according to White House Press Secretary Jay Carney.

“The president did not watch [the debate],” Carney said aboard Air Force One on Tuesday. “As you know, he was otherwise occupied.”

Obama was busy headlining three fundraisers for his reelection in Miami during the the two-hour live debate. But the president didn't bother to TiVo it for later, either.

“I spoke to him this morning and he did not see any of it,” Carney said, indicating that Obama has no intention of watching it – ever.

Carney eagerly offered up his own analysis:

“I was struck by the fact that over the course of two hours the phrase middle class and the word education did not pass anyone's lips,” he said.
