» Handbag maker The SAK named accessories designer Lorae Russo as creative director. She has designed for firms including most Kooba, Giorgio Armani, Gap, American Eagle and DKNY.

Technology

» Amphire Solutions appointed Liam Taylor as COO. He came to the company from eprocurement firm Makella, which Amphire acquired in August.

» Tumbleweed Communications Corp. named Jorge Rodriguez senior vice president of product development. He was vice president of engineering at Borland Software Corporation.

» Cataphora Inc. appointed Steve Downs as COO. He was previously at Retail Expansion Network Inc. and the Bar Association of San Francisco.

» LiveJournal Inc. hired Jason Shellen as VP of product development. He was previously on Google’s new business development team.

» Exelexis Inc. promoted Pamela A. Simonton from senior vice president of patents and licensing to executive vice president and general counsel, and Dr. Gisela M. Schwab from senior vice president and chief medical officer to executive vice president and chief medical officer.

» Workstream Inc. appointed Jeffrey Pfeffer to its board of directors. Pfeffer is the Thomas D. Dee II Professor of Organizational Behavior in the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University.

» Salesforce.com hired Polly Sumner as president, platform, alliances and services. She was president of global services for Telcordia.

» Landec Corp. board member Nicholas Tompkins was elected chairman of the board of Apio Inc., Landec’s wholly owned subsidiary. He was CEO of Apio.

» Landec Corp. has promoted Ron Midyett to CEO of Apio Inc. He was COO.

Finance

» Saints Capital named Robert Keppler as CFO. He was CFO of Centennial Ventures for 10 years.

» Wells Fargo appointed Gail Dela Calzada as store manager for the San Francisco Cracker Office at 1 Montgomery St. She was store manager for the 19th and Geary branch.

» SV Life Sciences promoted Darren Black to partner. Black has been a principal since 2003, focused on health care service, pharmaceutical service and medical device

investments.

» Presidio Bank appointed Michael Skubic to EVP and head of commercial banking for the East Bay.

Insurance

» RiskProNet International, a Menlo Park-based network of insurance brokers, elected Robert Swayze, executive vice president of Eustis Insurance and Benefits, as its

president.

Network members Gerry O’Connor, Bradley Potter and Phil Marsh were also elected to the board.

Food

» Dreamerz Foods Inc. appointed Gilbert Pritchard, former CEO of Avalon Natural Products, to its board.

» Del Monte Foods Company appointed Sharon L. McCollam to its board. She is EVP, COO and CFO at Williams-Sonoma Inc.

Law

» Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps LLP elected special counsel William Marchant as partner in the San Francisco office. He is a member of the real estate litigation practice group. — Staff reports
