Mervyn’s CEO steps down

Rick Leto, CEO and chief merchandising officer of Hayward-based Mervyn’s, is stepping down immediately, the company announced Tuesday.

The board has named Chuck Kurth, Mervyn’s chief financial officer, as interim president and CEO while a search is conducted for a successor.
