Macy’s West Wins Environmental Award

Macy’s West, a regional division of Macy’s Inc. (M) headquartered in San Francisco, has received a 2007 Green Power Leadership Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for it’s California solar power program.

The award, announced Thursday, recognizes the department store chain’s purchase of more than 10 million kilowatt-hours of green power for 28 California Macy’s stores, as well as plans to install solar powered electric systems in 25 stores.

Macy’s West operates 193 stores in eight states.
