Peter Liu, founder and vice chairman of San Francisco’s New Resource Bank, has been named as one the Social Venture Network’s ten 2007 Innovation Award winners.
New Resource Bank is the first bank to usedepositor's dollars to fund sustainability projects, and has provided innovative solar power and green construction loans, Social Venture Network officials said Monday in a statement.
They also operate at a high level of sustainability, and their office received Gold LEED certification for being a “green” building.
Also named in the awards are Morgan Simon, co-founder and executive director of the Oakland-based Responsible Endowments Coalition, and Priya Haji, cofounder and CEO of World of Goods, based in Emeryville.
