Gap Inc. names new Banana Republic president

San Francisco’s Gap Inc. (GPS) has named Jack Calhoun as president of Banana Republic.

Calhoun has been serving as interim president since February when his predecessor, Marka Hansen, was appointed president of Gap North America. He joined Banana Republic as executive vice president of marketing in 2003.

The company also announced the departure Thursday of Deborah Lloyd, head of design for Banana Republic, effective Oct. 19. Nick Coe, senior vice president of merchandising will fill her position while a search is conducted for her replacement.
