Gap Inc. names fashion designer Simon Kneen to top design position for Banana Republic

Gap Inc. (GPS) named fashion designer Simon Kneen as executive vice president of design and creative director for Banana Republic.

He has been creative design director for the Retail Brand Alliance for the past five years, doing creative work for brands including Brooks Brothers and Adrienne Vittadini as well as Casual Corner. Prior to that he was creative director for Maska, an Italian fashion house and head designer for Maison Balmain’s prêt-a-porter line.

He also led his own design firm and produced the Simon Kneen Collection, a line of suiting, separate, knitwear and accessories sold through luxury apparel retailers in Italy.
