EA Donates SimCity to Laptop Initiative

Redwood City’s Electronic Arts Inc. (ERTS) on Thursday announced that it will donate the original SimCity game to the One Laptop per Child initiative.

The initiative will begin distributing laptops in countries such as Uruguay, Peru, Mexico, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Haiti, Cambodia and India by the end of this year.

Each laptop will now come equipped with the original 1989 version of SimCity, an educational game that spawned a major franchise.
