Critical Path merger taking company private

San Francisco-based Critical Path Inc., a messaging software and services firm, has agreed to merge with CP Holdco LLC and CP Merger Co. in a deal that will take the company private.

Shareholders, who must approve the transaction, will receive $0.102 per share in cash. The deal is expected to close in the second calendar quarter of 2008.
