Muni’s California Cable Car line has been knocked out of service Thursday morning due to mechanical problems.
The malfunction on the line, which runs down California Street between Van Ness Avenue and Drumm Street, occurred at 7:09 a.m., according to Muni.
Motor coach shuttles will replace cable cars on the route until the problem has been cleared. There was no timetable established yet for when the cable cars will be back in service.
The California Cable Car line carries roughly 6,600 passengers every day.
