Bay area cities among most expensive in U.S.

Three Bay Area cities—Palo Alto, San Mateo and San Francisco—ranked among the top 10 most expensive in the nation in Coldwell Banker’s 2007 Home Price Comparison Index.

Three others—San Jose, Fremont and Oakland/Piedmont—were in the top 10, and Walnut Creek, Pleasanton, San Rafael, Napa and Santa Rosa were close behind.
