In no particular order, here are a few of the juiciest celebrity news stories of the year:
Josh Duggar: After admitting he sexually abused five young girls when he was a teen (four were his younger sisters), the Christian conservative star of TV’s freakishly popular reality show “19 Kids and Counting” confessed to cheating on his wife and checked into a treatment center.
Nannygates: Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced they were divorcing in June as rumors swirled that the split was due to Affleck’s alleged infidelity with the couple’s nanny Christine Ouzounian, a claim the actor has denied. Infidelity is also suspected to be what prompted Gwen Stefani’s split from Bush rocker Gavin Rossdale, who has denied having an affair with Mindy Mann.
Jared Fogle’s child porn sentence: The former Subway sandwich pitchman pleaded guilty to charges of possession and distribution of child pornography and traveling across state lines to engage in sex acts with minors. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison and supervision for life. There were 14 victims, and eight are still minors.
Ariana Grande’s doughnut fiasco: The Nickelodeon star-turned-pop sensation apologized profusely after she was caught on camera in a doughnut shop, licking a pastry — then not buying it. On the same video, she said she hates America.
Lamar Odom unconscious in brothel: The former NBA star and estranged husband of Khloe Kardashian ended up in a coma for several days after allegedly overdosing on a cocktail of “virtually every drug imaginable” in Las Vegas.
Bobbi Kristina Brown’s death: After languishing in a coma for months, the daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown was found unconscious in her bathtub after an alleged overdose. But information about her actual cause of death is not being publicly released as an investigation continues.
