Tan wax Beyonce causes social media stir

People are getting mad about a new wax figure of Beyonce in Madame Tussauds in New York, complaining that the superstar has been whitewashed.

When the folks at the museum tweeted a photo and invited patrons to “come by and see her before she leaves in September,” they were flooded with reactions of disbelief and disgust.

The statue, which some said made Queen Bey look like an “American Idol” contestant, drew comparisons to Tori Kelly, Julia Stiles and Taylor Swift — and others.

“Why does this Beyoncé wax figure look like Lindsay Lohan if she were an Instagram model,” one tweeter asked, the New York Daily News reported.

Another person complained that the statue looked like “Shakira after a performance on the 80s show Solid Gold” or, worse, like Mariah Carey.

The commentary prompted an official statement from Madame Tussauds headquarters in England: “Our talented team of sculptors takes every effort to ensure we accurately colour match all of our wax figures to the celebrity being depicted. Lighting within the attraction combined with flash photography may distort and misrepresent the colour of our wax figures.”

The website for the San Francisco branch of Madame Tussauds has a photo in which Beyonce looks a bit like Barbie.

Jennifer Lawrence literally vomited during a performance of Olivia Wilde’s Broadway show, “1984,” on Monday — but it wasn’t the intense drama that made the megastar sick, the New York Post reports.

Page Six previously reported that theater fans have been fainting and throwing up at the edgy play based on the famed George Orwell novel.

“Sending my love to those 4 people who fainted in the audience,” Wilde even tweeted in May with the disclaimer, “Warning: This is not your grandma’s Broadway.”

Despite the show’s gruesome torture scenes, it turns out the “The Hunger Games” star barfed because, according to a friend, she caught the stomach flu from her nephews.

The play, at the Hudson Theatre, has been causing quite a reaction for stars Wilde and Tom Sturridge.

Director Duncan Macmillan has said he made a point not to water down the violence.
