The internets are in an uproar over a now-deleted tweet by comedian Steve Martin in tribute to the late Carrie Fisher, according to the L.A. Times.
Martin tweeted on Tuesday, “When I was a young man, Carrie Fisher was the most beautiful creature I had ever seen. She turned out to be witty and bright as well.”

Almost immediately, his tweet was attacked for focusing on Fisher’s appearance rather than her accomplishments.
Fisher, a lifelong feminist, often spoke out about being a sex symbol and how she was regarded physically, according to Time Magazine.
Fisher even tweeted in 2015 that youth and beauty are not accomplishments and are only temporary, the L.A. Times reports.
On the other hand, the L.A. Times also reports that Fisher reduced her only interaction with Martin as a one-night stand shortly after she interviewed the comedian for the newspaper.
“I slept with Steve Martin once and once only, 20-some years ago. And I interviewed Steve Martin once and once only, 20-some days ago,” she wrote in the article. “You do the math.”
Chain cinnamon roll maker Cinnabon also issued an apology after a poorly worded tweet in honor of Fisher on Tuesday after her death, according to Fox.
“RIP Carrie Fisher, you’ll always have the best buns in the galaxy,” Cinnabon tweeted, in reference to the iconic buns Fisher’s hair was in during “Star Wars: A New Hope.” That tweet has also since been deleted.

Serena Williams is engaged
Serena Williams shocked the world Thursday when she announced that she was engaged to be married to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, according to E! News.
Williams first shared the news on, of course, Reddit. On her own verified Reddit account, she posted a sketch of Ohanian down on one knee popping the question, E! News reports. She then posted a poem under the sketch about how the proposal went down and that she responded, “and I said yes”, to which Ohanian responded, “And you made me the happiest man on the planet.”
Congratulations, you two!
