Scoop: Michael Bay makes ‘Transformers,’ ‘Turtles’ and rude remarks

Director Michael Bay, who makes blockbuster movies based on plastic toys, is already promoting his fifth “Transformers” offering — “Transformers: The Last Knight” — on Twitter, even though the movie isn’t being released until June 2017.

For those who care, he teased that villainous robot Megatron will appear in the sequel, along with human stars Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel and Isabela Moner, who turns 15 on July 10.

Let’s hope he’ll be more gracious with the youngster than he’s been with Kate Beckinsale, who recently told U.K. chat show host Graham Norton that Bay was less than kind to her while filming the 2001 film “Pearl Harbor,” about the 1941 Japanese attack on the U.S.

She said, “I think he was baffled by me because my boobs weren’t bigger than my head and I wasn’t blonde, adding, “I was told that if I got the part, I’d have to work out. And I just didn’t understand why a 1940s nurse would do that.”

While promoting the movie, Beckinsale said Bay praised male stars Ben Affleck and Josh Hartnett, but repeatedly said about her, “Kate wasn’t so attractive that she would alienate the female audience.”

Quality actress and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” actress Megan Fox (who was fired from a “Transformers” movie), once famously compared Bay to Napoleon and Hitler, but since has gone on record with this description of Bay, her “Ninja Turtles” producer: “We’ve had our battles in the past but even when I’ve been really outspoken about difficulties we’ve had, I’ve always followed up by saying that I have a particular affinity to him.”

Even though filmmaker John Carney said, “I’ll never make a film with supermodels again” after working with Keira Knightley on “Begin Again” with Mark Ruffalo and Adam Levine, other directors came to the actress’ defense. Mark Romanek, who directed her in “Never Let Me Go,” called working with her “utterly spectacular on every level” and Lorene Scafaria, who worked with her on “Seeking a Friend at the End of the World,” called her “lovely” and “a joy.”
