Scoop: Caitlyn Jenner costume won’t be canceled

As Los Angeles prosecutors began examining evidence surrounding a fatal Malibu crash in February involving Caitlyn Jenner to determine whether a criminal case is warranted, the Spirit Halloween pop-up shop is battling backlash against its plan to sell a Caitlyn Jenner costume inspired by the transgender celeb’s storied, lingerie-clad Vanity Fair cover.

Despite social media commenters calling the outfit insensitive, mean, cruel and “transphobic,” and an online petition demanding its recall, the retailer isn’t backing down.

Lisa Barr, senior director of marketing at Spirit Halloween told CNBC news, “At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes. We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that.”

The store also carries Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, KISS band members and Marilyn Monroe getups.

The “Caitlyn Corset” costume, which also includes a sash and wig, has a wholesale price of $49.

Fox News might not really be taking Donald Trump to task for his rude remarks aimed at anchor Megyn Kelly.

On Tuesday, gossip site Gawker astutely commented that while Fox News’ CEO Roger Ailes condemned the billionaire Republican presidential candidate and asked him to apologize for insulting the newscaster (calling her a “bimbo” and suggesting she was rapidly aging), the news program has “repeatedly and gleefully peddled sexist attacks on women for years.”

It pointed to a six-minute video made by liberal media watchdog site Media Matters, which collected dozens of examples of Fox News’ endemic sexism, including a 2013 “Hannity” episode in which host Bill Cunningham told television commentator Tamara Holder to “know your role and shut your mouth,”

In other Trump news, former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard David Duke announced his support for Trump’s campaign on his radio show. ‘Nuff said.
