Kid Rock not kidding about U.S. Senate run

Rapper, scratcher and country singer Kid Rock has launched a website Kid Rock For Senate that’s for real.

The celebrity, whose birth name is Robert James Ritchie, will run against Democrat Debbie Stabenow, Michigan’s senior U.S. senator.

The Stranger, a Seattle news site, summed up the Republican’s political history in a story calling him a “hick hopper” whose song “Born Free” was Mitt Romney’s campaign theme in 2012.

In 2016, Rock supported Donald Trump’s run. In 2017, he visited the White House with Sarah Palin and Ted Nugent, and famously mocked Hillary Clinton’s official portrait.

The Stranger also points out that Rock’s appearance in a 1999 sex tape with Creed’s Scott Stapp “entered the eternity of the internet in 2006.”

“Project Runway” begins its 16th season Aug. 17 with something refreshing: models with sizes ranging from O to 22 in a celebration of “body diversity.”

Hosts Heidi Klum and the great Tim Gunn are returning, as are judges Nina Garcia and Zac Posen, along with a star-studded slate of guest judges including Demi Lovato, Katie Holmes, Olivia Munn, Yolanda Hadid, Kate Upton, Maggie Q, Kelsea Ballerini, Dove Cameron, China Anne McClain, Asia Kate Dillon, Carly Chaikin, Maddie Ziegler, Sophia Stallone, Georgina Chapman, Rachel Brosnahan and Anne Fulenwider.

Two Bay Area designers are competing: Brandon Kee of San Francisco, and Michael Brambila of Oakland.

Neil Patrick Harris is among the thousands of fans getting into the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art’s mobile art sharing endeavor.

Folks who text Send Me SFMOMA 572-51 with the phrase “Send me (whatever)” will get a reply featuring an art work from the 34,678-piece collection, says creative technologist Jay Mollica.

It’s truly addictive. A “Send me food” request elicited a photo of a colorful dish from Palestinian conceptual artist Emily Jacir’s project “Where We Come From” and “Send me ice cream” came back with Richard N. Kauffman’s photo, “Mount St. Elias from Upper King Glacier, ca. 1958.”
