Jim Carrey’s ex was into Scientology

Jim Carrey’s ex-girlfriend was involved in the Church of Scientology before her suicide, a new report claims.

Cathriona White had been taking Scientology courses for several years and was enrolled in a class at the time of her death, according to journalist Tony Ortega, who has a blog devoted to the so-called religion founded by L. Ron Hubbard.

The Irish-born makeup artist was pronounced dead at her Los Angeles home Monday. Pills and a suicide note that referenced Carrey were found near her body, the New York Daily News reported.

Carrey, 53, apparently knew that White, 30, was a Scientologist when they started dating in 2012, Ortega reports. The pair had dated on and off since then.

White reportedly completed a course called a “Purification Rundown” before taking a class called “Survival Rundown” at the organization’s Hollywood Celebrity Center.

The “purification” course involved daily sauna sessions to detoxify the body, and White posted an Instagram photo from a session last year.

But Ortega reported that White, more recently, “stalled on” the more intense “Survival Rundown” course.

Carrey’s views on Scientology are known to the public. In a YouTube video of a TV talk show appearance, he jokes: “I actually got into Scientology for awhile … and that’s how I got this nice glazed look in my eyes.”

QUEEN CARRIES CASH

Who knew? Queen Elizabeth II carries cash.

But only on Sundays, because she “donates to the church collection basket,” according to Us magazine.

A source close to the 89-year-old monarch adds, “Her butler irons a 5-pound note into a little square by folding it until you can only see her face.”

In related news, the queen reportedly bestowed her granddaughter-in-law, Kate Middleton, with the Royal Family Order, the highest honor that can be given to a female member of the royal family.

The small diamond-framed badge, painted with a portrait of the queen, hangs from a yellow ribbon and is worn at state functions. Previous recipients include Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ current wife, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall.
