Usher’s ex-wife seeks custody of sons after youngest nearly drowns

Usher’s 5-year-old son, Usher Raymond V, was thankfully saved from drowning Monday after his arm got stuck in a pool drain, according to TMZ, but now the boy’s mother wants custody of him and his older brother.

Primary custody of the boy belongs to Usher, but not for long if his ex-wife has her way. Tameka Raymond has attempted to get custody of her son several times, only to have a judge always side with the singer. Ironically, in one of her arguments to the court she accused the pop star of being an “absentee” father.

Indeed, Usher wasn’t there when the pool incident occurred, having left his son in an aunt’s care. According to TMZ, a maid and then a contractor both jumped in the pool to save the child. Raymond filed legal docs on Tuesday asking for temporary primary custody.

The pool incident comes after Raymond’s 11-year-old son from a previous relationship died last year in a personal watercraft accident.
