Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes want to keep divorce quiet

Will Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise’s divorce be an ugly, public fight … or might the power couple reach a surprisingly amicable settlement?

After news broke that the former “Dawson’s Creek” star sought sole custody of daughter Suri, celeb watchers girded for a court battle royale.

But People magazine claims to have learned that lawyers for both parties are working behind the scenes to negotiate a settlement.

“Neither one of them wants this to be hashed out in public,” a source said.

Oh, come on, where’s the fun in that?

Justin News

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez may have split up last week — a source told People that at Ashley Tisdale’s birthday party a week ago, the “Wizards of Waverly Place” star “was crying about Justin and was upset.”

But the couple seem to have reconciled, as they were spotted dining out Thursday night at L.A.’s Pink Pepper restaurant.

After the meal, the teen-idol twosome were sighted holding hands in the parking lot. No word on whether the Biebs drove safely that night — the very next morning, he was cited for reckless driving, after allegedly weaving in and out of traffic at 80 mph in order to evade the paparazzi.

Katy and the Machine?

Katy Perry has been linked with Florence and the Machine musician Robert Ackroyd, with whom she was snuggling at the Coachella Music Festival. But the “Firework” singer insists that in the wake of her failed marriage to Russell Brand, she’s not looking for love.

“I have a second chance on life. To get maybe a better situation,” the “Part of Me” star explained to USA Today. “For me, right now, I’m totally not looking. I’m just looking to heal. And I’m on that path. I’m not down on love.”

So, what’s up with her and the British alt-rocker?

“That’s not even appropriate to label,” Katy said evasively. “There are times I go out and meet people and flirt, but it’s not really appropriate to have anything serious.”
