Tom Cruise addresses Walmart shareholders

Tom Cruise can now add Walmart to the list of evil empires he endorses, calling the famously parsimonious retailer “a role model.”

According to Radar, the actor delivered a speech at the company's shareholders powwow that defies belief. First he said, “Women make a difference in this company,” despite the fact that several women have sued them for discrimination. Then he pointed out how much the company is doing to fight hunger in America.

He apparently missed the memo that as high as one quarter of Walmart's staff earn wages that are so low that they must rely on food stamps, according to the US House Committee on Education and the Workforce. Risky business indeed.
