To the moon, Alice!

I must preface this post by acknowledging that, yes, I attended Space Camp as a kid. So, I am definitely a supporter of NASA and funding for space exploration. There are some who would rather have that money spent on domestic programs or earthbound research, but they ignore the overwhelming evidence that shows how beneficial a strong U.S. space program can be. NASA programs have given the nation and world a bounty of innovations, from the microprocessor to Velcro. I applaud President Bush for his decision to point us toward the moon, Mars and beyond. Granted, my cartoon doesn't really touch upon all that. I simply liked using the news story to comment on the growing list of Bush confidants who now find themselves forced out of his inner circle.
