OK, where to begin with this next item? Simon Cowell has announced his next project and, no, this is not a joke: “Afghanistan’s Got Talent” is gearing up for production.

Cowell has been “scouting for local talent” to be on the judging panel and locals will be auditioning for the show, according to the New York Daily News. “No matter where you are, people have amazing talents,” said a source.

This could be interesting, because the greatest influence on Afghani culture today (besides the red-hot Taliban) is reportedly Bollywood. Will Cowell find his foul-mouthed Afghani match? (Wanted: One telegenic Sunni unafraid to refer to contestants as “Sons of motherless goats” when necessary.)
