Scoop: Jon’s bid to halt ‘Kate Plus 8’

Jon Gosselin may have been booted from the reality show now dubbed “Kate Plus 8” — but he’s trying to take the production down with him. After TLC announced that the father of eight would no longer be a principal player on the hit-turned-trainwreck, he retaliated with an order to stop filming the kids. His lawyer told People magazine that “his children are complaining” about the cameras.

On Thursday, production was indeed halted. The network released a statement saying, “Direct filming of the children has been currently suspended, pending further conversations between both parents.”

TMZ reports that Jon was chafing under his exclusive contract with TLC and wanted to be released, with permission to do other projects.

His lawyer allegedly threatened producers by saying Jon would take the kids off the show, claiming it was harming them, if he didn’t get his way. And, well, what do you know?

Still On

Isn’t it funny how when breakup rumors surface, a couple that haven’t been seen together in a while suddenly makes a reappearance? That’s what Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel did, stepping out hand in hand Monday night after reports he’d dumped her.

“They’ve spent the last few days vacationing together in Santa Barbara,” a source told Page Six. “Things have been rocky in the last few months, but they are working it out.”

However, another source admits, “Things have been a bit up in the air recently. They’ve been spending more time apart — more time with each of their friends, and they’ve been reevaluating [their relationship].”

Patience, Britney, patience …

Mama Padma

News we weren't expecting: Padma Lakshmi is pregnant! The “Top Chef” host, who split from former husband Salman Rushdie two years ago, hasn't debuted a beau recently, but her rep confirms to Us that she is expecting her first child.

The 39-year-old foodie suffers from endometriosis, which can cause infertility. “As a result of her condition, this pregnancy has been referred to by her physician as nothing short of a medical miracle,” her rep notes.

Of course, unless the pregnancy is a miracle in an entirely different way, we can't help but wonder: Who's the dad?

Baby watch – not

Spencer Pratt is practicing the best form of birth control – abstinence – because he doesn't trust his wife to use any other kind. The loudmouthe”Hills” villain offered up his usual obnoxious brand of TMI to the New York Post, explaining that he's terrified Heidi Montag will get pregnant.

“See, Heidi's mom had her when she was 19 years old, so she's got this whole young mom theory that I just found out about,” the reality star explained. “But I keep telling her, you can still be a young mom at 27 – chill out! She's not having it, though.”

“I'm not even kidding, my wife – OK, I'm gonna get crass here – but we're barely having sex because I'm scared that she's gonna have a baby,” Spencer confided. “That's the level our marriage is on right now.”

Asked whether he thinks Heidi might lie about being on birth control, he said, “She's not the kind of person who would lie – she would just walk away and not answer the question. So yes, I'm very concerned. Our sex life has dramatically changed recently.”

Although we really didn't want to know about Speidi's sex life, we must admit it's reassuring to know they're not going to breed anytime soon.
