Scoop: Jon cleaned out bank account

Kate Gosselin says the rumors are true: Estranged hubby Jon Gosselin cleaned out all but $1,000 from their joint bank account, leaving her and his eight kids broke … and destroying any last shred of sympathy the public may have had for him.

“He took $230,000 of the $231,000 that we have liquid.  I have a stack of bills in my purse I can’t drop in the mail,” Kate said on “Today” on Monday.

And lest you forget, given the family’s many freebies and perks from their popular reality show, raising eight kids actually costs a ton of money. “We were in a position after our sextuplets were born that we could not pay our bills. We did the show to provide a better life for them,” Kate noted ruefully. “Never in my life did I think I would be back in the same position, worried about providing for them.”

Presumably, the show income has dried up now that Jon forced production to halt, claiming the kids were being traumatized. But Kate insists that when she informed them there would be no more filming, “times eight, there was wailing and sobbing. They love our crew.  They love the interaction.  They love the events.  There is nothing harmful about it.  They are angry.”

Kate also revealed that she’s finally stopped wearing her wedding ring. Does that mean she’s ready to move on … or that she had to hock it?

LeAnn: “Female” Trouble?

The estranged wife of LeAnn Rimes’ beau, Eddie Cibrian, says the country singer is “Single White Female-ing” her.

“She’s moved in a half a mile from my house and a block from my son’s school. So she is completely space-invading me at the moment so things are not cool,” fumes Brandi Glanville to Us magazine — adding that LeAnn was even lurking at her son’s school when she went to pick him up once.

“Honestly, she’s ‘Single White Female’-ing me. She wants my life,” Brandi complains. “She wants my kids. She wants my husband. She can have most of everything, but just not my children or my family.”

But Brandi insists their two children have “no idea” she and her baby-daddy are feuding, as they maintain a united parental front: “We definitely save face to the kids, absolutely.” Let’s just hope they never learn to read, or do Google searches.

Courtney: Money Trouble?

Despite having inherited late husband Kurt Cobain’s estate, has Courtney Love gone broke? A report in the U.K.’s Sun claims she texted a friend lamenting, “I have 120 bucks, my kid hasn’t had a decent meal and I’m getting evicted.”

“She has really hit rock bottom. She’s a financial disaster,” opines the pal.

The Hole rocker has had her share of financial troubles lately — she claims identity thieves looted Kurt’s bank accounts; American Express has sued her over unpaid bills; and she allegedly tried to access 17-year-old daughter Frances Bean’s trust fund, only to be locked out of the account. However, La Love’s rep insists the tale of the dire-straits text message is made up.

Hey, if they really are in trouble, maybe Courtney and Frances Bean can move in with Kate Gosselin and split the rent. “Courtney Plus 8” would be pretty compelling television.

Sum 1 New

Avril who? Punk-popster Lavigne’s estranged hubby, Deryck Whibley, was spotted dining with a model on Friday night, just weeks after she allegedly gave him the boot.

The Sum 41 rocker wined and dined hottie Hanna Beth Merjos at Las Vegas eatery Stack before proceeding to a nightclub where “he was very open with his affection towards her and poured her vodka cocktails,” a source told OK! magazine. The duo didn’t call it a night until 3 a.m., when they retired back to their hotel.

An Avril pal says she’s “unfazed” by the quick rebound and the marriage had been “over for a while.” Still, we wouldn’t be surprised to see her make a point of stepping out with a new man tout de suite.
