As Mrs. Marc Anthony and the proud mom of twins Max and Emme, Jennifer Lopez has gone from diva to domesticated. In the new issue of Elle, she opens up about becoming a mother, saying she never worried about being able to get pregnant — but since she’s not sure she will again, she was determined to savor the experience.
Although it took a while for her to conceive, “we knew nothing was wrong with either one of us — I had been checked, and [Marc] had kids already,” Jenny from the block explained. “I knew something’s not ready here, in my head or in my life, and when it is, I know it’s going to happen.”
But one day, when sitting in the makeup chair, she suddenly knew: “I felt a flutter. The weirdest little … flourish. My makeup artist said, ‘What’s the matter?’ I didn’t say anything, but in my head, I was like, ‘I have life inside me!’”
After wrapping a tour while pregnant, she told Marc, “I did the superwoman thing, I finished the tour — now I need you to take care of me. I love doing things for you…. But this is the first time in my life where I’m just going to be a little bit selfish,” she continued. (Pause while we loudly clear our throats.) “I don’t know if I’m going to have kids again, so I want it to be a beautiful experience. I don’t want to have any drama. I want to just be smiling every day.’”
Wow, J.Lo really has changed. It wasn’t too long ago that nothing made her happier than drama!
Viewers at the Toronto Film Festival will be seeing less of Paris Hilton. Although a documentary about the heirhead, “Paris, Not France,” was slated to be shown three times, two of them — including a press screening — were canceled, reports the New York Post. Why? According to the paper, it’s because she wants publicity. Uh, that makes sense.
“We wanted to create more buzz — create some hype,” her rep explains. “We felt the impact would be more extreme if we had one screening.”
The reality star is a partner in the film and could be looking to maximize box office for a wide release, the paper notes.
Paris wanting less screen time? Doesn’t add up to us. We’re guessing the celebutante comes off as so obnoxious, her people are looking to minimize bad buzz.
Chewing the Fat
Oh, no she didn’t! In what’s shaping up to be one heckuva verbal catfight, Carrie Underwood reportedly called Jessica Simpson the worst word a celeb can hear: fat.
Tony Romo’s current girlfriend (Jess) and his ex (Carrie) have been exchanging words to the media about the Dallas Cowboys star, with the “American Idol” cutie saying they’re still in touch and her rival insisting they’re not.
Now, OK! says Carrie laughed at a recent People cover where Jessica trumpeted the fact that Tony is “the love of her life.”
“She finds Jessica’s love of putting her life on display pretty desperate,” a friend of the country singer told the tabloid. “She laughed at the People cover, because it’s the same one Jess did about [then-boyfriend] John Mayer — same smile, same look, except she’s a little fatter.” Ouch!
Britney’s back! Well, kind of. A year after her infamous debacle opening MTV’s Video Music Awards with a listless lip-synch of “Gimme More,” the pop icon has announced she’ll open the show again. But this time, there’ll be no performance.
“I’m excited to open the entire show, to say hi to my fans and to be nominated,” the rebounding singer said in a statement.
Either Britney will come out of this triumphant, or she’ll find some way to turn her redemption moment into a train wreck. Either way, we’ll have fun watching.
