Scoop: Elin gives Tiger six months of probation

Now that he’s out of sex rehab, what’s next for Tiger Woods? According to the U.K.’s Mirror, the golf great has six months to prove to his wife that he’s changed — or the marriage is over.

A source says Elin Nordegren has been “convinced there is hope for the marriage” by doctors who praised her philandering hubby’s “remarkable progress” — and she was by his side when he checked out of the clinic that treated him — but the betrayed blonde is still not sure whether she can trust him.

“After all the horrible stories about his affairs and all the hurt, the reality is there is still a lot of love left for Tiger. That’s why she is willing to give him another chance,” the insider says. “She would hate herself if she just gave up on him, especially when he’s so serious about getting help. But one thing is for sure: Elin won’t be duped twice.”

The newspaper says the pair are now together at a pal’s home and planning a second honeymoon on his ironically named yacht Privacy. Though Elin has stashed her wedding band in a safe, she plans to sport it again if and “when she has made her mind up [about] what the future holds,” the source says. “She is cautiously optimistic, but is taking things one day at a time.”

And lest you suspect that a rumored big prenup payout is the Swedish model’s motivation to stay, the insider says nothing could be further from the truth.

“There is not enough money in the world to buy Elin’s love,” the source says. “She can’t be bought. And after five years of marriage, she feels she has to try to make things work.”

Well, we wish her luck. She’s going to need it.

It must be Tuesday: Alex Rodriguez has a new gal pal. And, surprise, surprise, she’s a fit and famous blonde.

The newest lady in the Yankees slugger’s life is none other than Cameron Diaz, who was reportedly spotted getting cozy with him at a pre-Super Bowl bash last weekend.

On Saturday night at the W Hotel during Miami’s star-studded CAA event, the “Shrek” actress looked tipsy and acted “fun and flirty” with the baseball star, a fellow reveler tells OK! magazine.

“They were having a great time,” the gawker says, adding that Cam was “grinding on A-Rod.”

And the public flirtation may be a sign that a romance is heating up fast. “A-Rod and Cameron have been totally hooking up,” the source says.

Enjoy it while you can, Cam. Alex has a rep for, shall we say, rounding the bases quickly.

Impatiently waiting for a new Usher album? Blame his mother. A rift between the R&B crooner and his “momager” is holding up the release of his upcoming CD, the New York Daily News reports.

Though the disk “Raymond vs. Raymond” is apparently ready, Usher’s record label won’t release it until he finds a replacement for mother Jonetta Patton, who quit managing him in November.

“She walked away from the project because Usher had his girlfriend [and former Def Jam executive] Grace Miguel all in the mix,” a record company source says.

This seems to be a pattern in Usher’s life. First, now-ex-wife Tameka clashed with his mom, and now evidently his new girlfriend’s coming between them. Maybe it’s time for some family counseling?
