The San Francisco County Transportation Authority, a local planning and financing agency that is governed by the Board of Supervisors, could preliminarily approve its budget for the upcoming fiscal year on Tuesday.
The authority, which administers The City’s transportation tax dollars, has recommended a $157.8 million budget for the upcoming fiscal year. About 90 percent of that budget will go toward capital projects — long-term undertakings like infrastructure improvements and vehicle rehabilitation.
On Tuesday the authority’s finance committee will be asked to recommend the budget proposal. If that occurs, the agency will hold a series of public meetings next month before putting the budget up for final authorization before the full board.
