Radio host Stephanie Miller brings comedy tour to the Orpheum

The radio host brings the whipsmart live comedy show “Sexy Liberal Comedy Tour” to the Orpheum Theatre on Friday and Saturday, performing alongside fellow comedians John Fugelsang and Hal Sparks. Call (888) 746-1799 or visit www.shnsf.com for tickets.

How did the concept for the tour come about? It started out as a joke. I don’t think it’s just me. It’s the same energy that you see behind Occupy Wall Street. A lot of people feel frustrated. In our case it’s primarily with the right wing. It’s sexy to be liberal because you’re empathetic and open-minded. We’ve actually been kept out of some places by conservative politics.

What do you think a San Francisco audience might enjoy about your show?
I love San Francisco. I think it’s a like-mindedness. We watch the Republican debates and ask “Is it just us or are all of these people crazy?”

How do you plan to handle the Q&A session with the audience?
They can ask anything, whether it’s personal, political, about media or whatever. It always ends up being a free-for-all.
