Carnaval San Francisco returns to the Mission district, where “Love Happens,” according to this year’s theme. Latin American and Caribbean cultures shine in a free extravaganza featuring music, dance, food and a parade. The party, on Harrison Street between 18th and 24th streets, runs 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday-Sunday; the parade starts at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Bryant and 24th streets.
