After being publicly throttled by her husband of 10 years, Charles Saatchi, a “broken and desolate” Nigella Lawson is rumored to be contemplating divorce.

The U.K.’s Mirror claims that she has stopped wearing her wedding ring and that her career could suffer if she’s seen as at once a person who is a “domestic goddess” but also tolerates spousal abuse. Then there’s the fact that none of her besties can stand the guy.

“Not many of Nigella’s friends like him but they tolerate him,” a source told the paper. “He’s old fashioned.”

Well, yes, putting your hands around your wife’s neck during an argument is indeed démodé.

On Sunday, California bore the brunt of what meteorologists referred to as a bomb cyclone and an atmospheric river, a convergence of storms that brought more than half a foot of rain to parts of the Bay Area, along with high winds, concerns about flash floods and the potential for heavy snow in the Sierra Nevada. Much of the Bay Area was under a flash flood watch on Sunday, with the National Weather Service warning of the potential for mudslides across the region. (NOAA via The New York Times)
