Nicole Richie weds rocker Joel Madden

Some Hollywood couples rush into marriage, and then there’s Nicole Richie and Joel Madden. The socialite and the Good Charlotte rocker tied the knot Saturday after four years together and two children.

The ceremony took place at proud papa Lionel Richie’s Los Angeles home in front of 130 guests, including Khloe Kardashian, Samantha Ronson, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, and — natch — Joel’s twin brother and bandmate, Benji. Daughter Harlow was flower girl (son Sparrow probably wasn’t old enough to get involved). A trained elephant was also part of the festivities.

“They wanted an Old Hollywood, glamorous feel to their wedding,” a source told People magazine. “They’re going all-out with the decor. Nicole wanted a memorable, elegant affair for only their closest friends and family on their special day.”

Before the nuptials, however, the New York Post reported that the couple were engaged in negotiations to drive up the cost of wedding photos, “playing the weekly magazines against each other to drive up the price.” They were also apparently seeking a cover story.

“Things got complicated because both Kim Kardashian and Christina Aguilera said they couldn’t attend the wedding because of other commitments,” a source explained. (Nicole’s rep called this report “incorrect.”)

Before you call her greedy, however, note that Nicole reportedly said she would give the money to charity. We just hope the charity in question isn’t the Richie-Madden Wedding Planning Fund.

Wild Miley

Billy Ray Cyrus is surprised and “sad” that daughter Miley was caught on camera smoking from a bong. Though the hallucinogenic herb Salvia is legal in California, the country singer isn’t happy.

“Sorry guys. I had no idea,” he tweeted after TMZ posted footage of his 18-year-old daughter gleefully declaring that she was “tripping.” “Just saw this stuff for the first time myself.”

“I’m so sad,” he added. “There is much beyond my control right now.”

The footage of the “Hannah Montana” star was reportedly filmed at a party at her home, a few days after her 18th birthday. A friend shot it, and the video was said to have been stolen from the camera.

It astounds us that after all this time, Miley still has not learned that cameras are not her friend when she’s off the clock!

Couple Time

The days of hiding their romance are long gone: While filming “Breaking Dawn” in Baton Rouge, La., Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have been open about their offscreen relationship in front of cast and crew.

The pair were “very couple-like” at a “Twilight” cast dinner, a source at the steak house told People magazine. “There was a lot of hand-holding, sitting next to each other. Everyone was talking around the room, but Kristen and Rob were just talking to each other, not really into the conversations everyone else was having.”

And an observer said they were “very much a couple” on an outing to a local karaoke bar. “I mean, they weren’t slobbering all over each other, but they sure looked like a couple and were talking with each other like a couple. They [seem like] a couple in love.”

What we really want to know is, did they do a karaoke duet?
