The Human Rights Campaign’s Bay Area Gala Dinner on Saturday offers a community opportunity to celebrate and discuss milestones and marriage equality.
The event boasts an impressive roster of guests, including actress Marlee Matlin, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and U.S. Rep. Lynn Woolsey — not to mention HRC President Joe Solmonese and Tom Floyd, a Bay Area HRC board member and chair of the gala committee.
Solmonese said, “The court’s ruling was an amazing victory, and the San Francisco Bay Area dinner is another opportunity to continue to build financial support to protect marriage in November. With our initial $500,000 commitment and the proceeds from the dinner, HRC aims to ensure that California remains a state where every person has the opportunity to realize their hopes and dreams by being able to marry the person they love.”
The gala runs from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Westin St. Francis Hotel, 335 Powell St., San Francisco. Ticket prices start at $225. For information, visit sfbayarea.hrc.org/dinner.
