Jennifer Lopez performs for Turkmenistan leader with spotty human rights record

You can't really blame Jennifer Lopez's people for not wanting to Google the name “Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov” before she performed for him, but if they had they might've discovered the Turkmenistan leader's “dismal human rights record,” according to In Serbia.

J-Lo performed at his birthday party at a billion-dollar Caspian Sea resort over the weekend. “Had there been knowledge of human rights issues of any kind,” a rep for the singer told The Hollywood Reporter, “Jennifer would not have attended.”

Human Rights Watch describes the country as a “draconian” autocracy rife with political and religious repression. Oops.
