Apparently we aren’t the only ones who thought the rumors about Katie Holmes dating Jamie Foxx were odd.

“It’s quite hilarious,” Foxx told Entertainment Tonight. “We simply danced at a charity event.”

According to the New York Daily News, the two have been pals for a long time because he’s a “close friend” of Tom Cruise. Really? That seems even more weird.

The whole thing started when In Touch ran a story claiming Holmes and Foxx were having a passionate “Mission: Impossible”-style romance on the down-low, citing a source who said they had been dating for a while and would spend the night at each other’s New York apartments.

A note about In Touch’s credibility issues: More than once, the magazine has reported Jennifer Aniston to be pregnant.FeaturesGossipJamie FoxxKatie HolmesTom Cruise
