Halle Berry steps up fight for her daughter

They seemed like the chummiest of exes, but now Halle Berry has come out swinging in her custody battle with baby-daddy Gabriel Aubry. The Oscar winner has pulled out of her role in the upcoming film “New Year’s Eve” and vowed to fight for 2-year-old daughter Nahla.

“Halle Berry was forced to pull out of a film production in New York this week due to pending custody litigation involving her daughter,” her rep said in a statement. “She has attempted to resolve these custody issues amicably with her daughter’s father, Gabriel Aubry, directly, but given his lack of cooperation, Halle has no choice but to seek swift judicial intervention.”

The French model recently filed paperwork seeking shared custody of Nahla. Though they had a long-term romance, he and the “Catwoman” star were never married.

“Halle has serious concerns for her daughter’s well-being while in the care of her father for any extended period of time and is prepared to take all necessary steps to protect her,” the rep said. “Halle has always made the needs and safety of her daughter her first priority, and both while Halle and Gabriel were a couple and since their breakup, Halle has only acted in her daughter’s best interest.”

We can paraphrase this press release in two words: It’s on.

Home Remedy

It did not exactly shock anyone when Charlie Sheen’s camp announced that the troubled actor had entered rehab last week. But new reports specifying exactly where he is being treated are pretty jaw-dropping.

With his hit show on hiatus during his attempt at recovery, the “Two and a Half Men” star is allegedly undergoing treatment at … home. Wait, what?

“He’s getting treatment done at home,” a source told Us magazine. “He’s doing rehab there.”

According to TMZ, Charlie’s team has arranged for a professional expert’s care within the confines of his spread at a gated community in Los Angeles. (Ex-wife Denise Richards has stopped by more than once over the past couple days.)

But that does not mean he is just going through the motions of getting his act together — TMZ reported privacy concerns factor in to the decision for a celebrity to seek treatment at home.

Well, whatever works!

Traveling Twosome

Ashley Greene is opening up about her romance with Joe Jonas — and it sounds like it is pretty serious. The “Twilight” actress told Teen Vogue magazine that despite their busy schedules, she and her pop-star beau have achieved some significant couplehood milestones, such as meeting the parents.

“We have a traveling relationship,” Ashley said. “We met through mutual friends in London, which is crazy because we both live in L.A. And we’ve already met each other’s parents, which I think is a good result of the kind of lifestyle we live. He’s sweet and really funny, which is huge for me.”

So what about the fans who are not, well, fans of her relationship with Joe?

“There’s always going to be anti in this industry,” Ashley said. “But the thing is, I have dealt with anti before our relationship, and I will always have to deal with it. There will always be people who love me or hate me. “That’s why I try to focus on the positive.”
