Lu Over The Wall: A young mermaid, whose singing causes humans to dance uncontrollably, rocks the world of a small fishing village in the Japanese animated adventure comedy directed by Masaaki Yuasa. Not rated. At the Embarcadero.

Measure of a Man: In 1976, an insecure and overweight 14-year-old boy comes to understand who he is in the movie based on the coming-of-age novel “One Fat Summer” by Robert Lipsyte. Rated PG-13. At the Opera Plaza.

Racer and The Jailbird: The sexy crime epic by Belgian director Michaël R. Roskam is set against a backdrop of auto racing and high-stakes heists. Rated R. At the Opera Plaza.

Revenge: A young woman fights back after being sexually assaulted by her married millionaire boyfriend’s hunting buddies in the film by Coralie Fargeat. Rated R. At the Alamo Drafthouse.

Terminal: Margot Robbie plays the femme fatale, a waitress in an unnamed metropolis, in the noir film written and directed by Vaughn Stein. Not rated. At the AMC Van Ness.
