Dogs dance to support SPCA

Bark & Whine Ball: Dancing canines and humans were on board Wednesday at the Fort Mason Center for the 15th annual San Francisco SPCA gala benefit, hosted by Diane Dwyer of NBC Bay Area News. Proceeds benefit the Cinderella Fund, which provides assistance to the neediest dogs and cats that arrive at the shelter.

Abortion-rights backers honor heroes at event

NARAL Power of Choice Luncheon: Last week at the InterContinental San Francisco, some 700 members and supporters of the nation’s leading abortion-rights group gathered for the 16th annual program. VIPs included House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi,  Rep. Jackie Speier, NARAL Pro-Choice America founder Dagmar Dolby, NARAL President Nancy Keenan and keynote speaker Jessica Valenti. 

Picnic benefits patients at UCSF

Snuggly Soiree: Ann and Gordon Getty hosted some 350 guests at their home March 24 for the Glogau Teddy Bear Rescue Fund’s annual event, which benefits patients at UC San Francisco Children’s Hospital and their families. The party raised nearly $200,000. Guests included Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Josh Johnson.
