A Charlie Brown Christmas-Live!: Randall Craig Fleischer conducts the San Francisco Symphony and the singing and dancing cast of “A Charlie Brown Christmas” in a concert of holiday favorites, including Vince Guaraldi’s famed music. [2 and 7:30 p.m., Davies Symphony Hall, 201 Van Ness Ave., S.F.]

Emily Heller: The comedian and writer “who likes you very much” and has been seen on TV shows with Seth Meyers, Conan O’Brien and John Oliver, opens a three-night standup engagement. [8 p.m., Punch Line, 444 Battery St., S.F.]

Winter Walk: A solstice festival performance featuring what’s billed as “the world’s first synesthesia piano” is part of festivities at the holiday pedestrian mall. [5:15 p.m., Stockton, between Geary and Ellis streets, S.F.]

Dave Koz
: The smooth jazz saxophone giant appears on his 20th anniversary Christmas tour, with guests David Benoit, Rick Braun and Peter White and R&B-jazz singer Selina Albright. [8 p.m., City National Civic, 135 San Carlos St., San Jose]

PianoFight’s 2017 Year In Revue: Sam DiSalvo and Molly Sanchez host the standup series with a roster of rotating guests and the theme “Comedy Treasures from a Trash Year.” [7:30 p.m. PianoFight, 144 Taylor St., S.F., www.pianofight.com

Smokedaddies: The Bay Area funk, jazz, blues and space-rock band founded in 1998 by guitarist and “spiritual leader” Byron Rynes plays, featuring vocalist Jordan Feinstein. [9:30 p.m., Boom Boom Room, 1601 Fillmore St., S.F.]

Alvon Johnson: The guitarist and singer, formerly of The Coasters, performs tunes from that band, as well as swing and blues. [7:30 and 9:30 p.m., Biscuits & Blues, 401 Mason St., S.F.]

Singin’ in the Rain: Gene Kelly, Donald O’Connor and Debbie Reynolds dance up a storm in what’s been called “the greatest movie musical of all time.” [4:45, 7 and 9 p.m., Castro Theatre, 429 Castro St., S.F.]

FRIDAY, DEC. 22

A Very Merry Misfit Cabaret: Singer Kat Robichaud and her band Darling Misfits appear in a holiday variety show with eccentric stunt and burlesque performers and homages to “Star Wars.” [8 p.m., Great Star Theater, 636 Jackson St., S.F.]

Country Joe McDonald’s Farewell S.F. Concert: The 50th anniversary show is a celebration and performance of the LP “Electric Music for the Mind & Body” and other classics, plus a “Mad Alchemy Liquid Light Show.” [8:30 p.m., Chapel, 777 Valencia St., S.F.]

Rex Navarrete: The Bay Area-bred Filipino who “remains to be one of the hardest working, relatively unknown American comedians” opens a two-day standup engagement. [8 p.m., Cobb’s Comedy Club, 915 Columbus Ave., S.F.]

Children’s Holiday Train: On view through Jan. 4, the annual display depicts trains from beloved stories including “Thomas the Tank Engine.” [Noon to 6 p.m., Children’s Center, Main Library, second floor, 100 Larkin St., S.F.]

Aladdin
