The worst edition of “The Bachelor” has ended — and none too soon.
Fox News reports that after a season filled with tears, anger and controversy, bachelor Juan Pablo Galavis did not propose to a lucky bride-to-be in St. Lucia on Monday night’s show. Instead, he offered the last woman standing, Nikki Ferrell, just a rose.
Then it got awkward.
“I have a ring here in my pocket and I’m not going to use it,” he said. “I’m not 100 percent sure that I want to propose to you, but at the same time, I’m 100 percent sure that I don’t want to let you go.”
Runner-up Clare Crawley’s departure was just as uncomfortable, with Galavis commenting, “I’m glad I didn’t pick her,” under his breath when she ran away in tears.
The “After the Final Rose” special following the show was equally bizarre. Galavis wouldn’t answer when host Chris Harrison asked him if he loved Ferrell, but he did say, “Sorry the show didn’t end up like you guys wanted it to,” to boos from the audience.
