When it comes to watching meetings at City Hall, the Entertainment Commission often lives up to its name. Frustrated cops and stressed-out nightclub owners are often at odds with a 7-member body tasked with not only regulating the industry but promoting it as well.
So, Board of Supervisors President David Chiu, who represents the neon-lined Broadway corridor, has called for the powerful commission to televise its meetings and therefore reach a larger audience.
The problem is, there aren’t many meeting rooms at City Hall with the right camera equipment.
As it is, the commission meets on the first and third Tuesdays of the month, but the commission will vote to change that on Tuesday so it can be lights, camera, action.
