San Mateo County vote-by-mail count shows Wiener ahead of Kim

The first results for the District 11 state Senate race between supervisors Scott Wiener and Jane Kim are in, and they show Wiener is ahead.

But the numbers just include vote-by-mail ballots from San Mateo County.

As of 8:10 p.m., Wiener achieved 7,099 votes by mail (55.7 percent) and Kim garnered 5,638 (44.3 percent).

San Francisco’s first election results are expected by 8:45 p.m.
