UPDATE: Firefighters control two-alarm fire in Hayes Valley

Firefighters extinguished a two-alarm fire at a four-story building in Hayes Valley late Monday afternoon, fire officials said.

The blaze was reported just before 4:30 p.m. at 605 Webster St., and declared under control at 4:50 p.m., fire officials posted to Twitter.

“Heavy fire” was reportedly coming from the upper floors, and the blaze was centered in the top floor and attic, fire officials said. No injuries were reported.

The American Red Cross was responding to assist with displaced residents.
