Three small grass fires reported at McLaren Park

Three small grass fires reported in San Francisco’s McLaren Park on Wednesday afternoon have been contained with no injuries, according to fire officials.

A small grass fire was first reported shortly before noon in the park, which is located near John F. Shelley Drive and Mansell Street between The City’s Excelsior District and Visitacion Valley neighborhoods.

Firefighters discovered there were actually three fires at separate locations within the park, totaling about 3 acres.

All three were reported to be contained and by 12:50 p.m. and remain under investigation.

No injuries, resident displacement or structure damage was reported.
