Small fire breaks out in Westfield Centre, prompting mall evacuation

The San Francisco Fire Department responded to a small fire at the Westfield Shopping Centre shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Monday, spurring a large evacuation of shoppers onto the street.

The fire broke out in the Coach store on the second floor, fire officials said. It was quickly extinguished., and by 5:45 p.m. shoppers were being allowed back inside the Centre.
