SFO officials evacuate part of terminal to investigate suspicious package

Officials at San Francisco International Airport investigated a suspicious package early Wednesday morning, airport officials said.

According to airport spokesperson Doug Yakel, a passenger at the Cathay Pacific ticket counter in the International Terminal had a box that needed to be cleared.

A portion of the terminal was evacuated as officials investigated the box, Yakel said.

Shortly after midnight the box was deemed safe and all areas of the terminal were reopened, Yakel said.

Further details were not immediately available.
