QUIZ: Can you identify this object found in Golden Gate Park?

While walking in Golden Gate Park with her dog Monday morning, a San Francisco Examiner reader discovered what appears to be a strange object in the ground.

“It looks like an idol/symbol or something and the weekend rains helped unearth it,” the reader told the Examiner. “The strangest part was that it was in the middle of this stone circle.”

The object was apparently discovered behind the California Academy of Sciences near the racquetball courts.
