Gas leak reported in Hunters Point

San Francisco emergency officials were responding to a gas main leak in the Hunters Point neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.

The San Francisco Fire Department reported the leak at 401 Innes Ave. shortly before 2 p.m.

The immediate area was evacuated. The leak has been determined to be in a 4-inch natural gas line. PG&E crews, police and firefighters are on the scene.

Residents were being asked to avoid the area.
