Firefighters douse blaze near Castro Theatre

Firefighters battled a one-alarm fire Saturday afternoon at a three-story building in San Francisco’s Eureka Valley/Dolores Heights neighborhood, fire officials said on Twitter.

The fire was reported at 3:51 p.m. at 495 Castro St., contained at 4:36 p.m. and under control at 4:44 p.m.

Fire officials said flames burned a deck and spread to a wall.

No injuries were reported and fire officials didn’t immediately know if anyone was displaced.
The cause is under investigation.

Fire officials initially said the structure was a residential building but clarified that it was a building with residential units above a business.
