Firefighters douse blaze at Chinese food restaurant in Outer Sunset

San Francisco firefighters extinguished a one-alarm blaze at a Chinese food restaurant in the Outer Sunset on Monday morning.

Firefighters responded to the fire at 1556 Noriega St., where New Hing Lung restaurant is located, just after 9 a.m., where the fire was reported to be burning on the first floor. The flames spread to another structure but the extent of damage wasn’t immediately available.

Tenants of the two-story building, which has residences above the restaurant, had self-evacuated. One victim was taken to a hospital for burns but is expected to survive.

The fire was declared under control by 9:48 a.m.
